Jaaja Samuel Lukanga, the head of Lukanga Boxing Club who has been the heartbeat of the sport in the country for over 20 years asserts that football players are more difficult to manage.

According to Lukanga, boxers are easy to manage unlike football players.

“Boxers are better persons than players in other sports, Boxers are loyal and trustworthy, they just can’t lie but in my ten years in football it is where I saw players announcing fake deaths and other indiscipline locating on lies, am living with several examples”

“Football players can easily fake injuries, I remember one time when Morley Byekwaso was still playing football, he lied to us that his wife was bedridden but when we reached his home, the wife was very well and busy washing utensils.” Said Lukanga

Lukanga was recognized by the organizers of the Fortebet Real Stars awards with the lifetime Achievement award for his tremendous role towards the development of boxing in the country.

“I started getting boxing interest in 1969 while living with my aunt in Kyengera after watching a boxing fight on Television between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman.” Noted Lukanga after being rewarded with the Fortebet Real Stars Lifetime Achievement award on Tuesday

Meanwhile, Muzamir Kakande won the boxing gong of the month of March for his knockout win over British sensational Dan Toward in the 5th round of the Super Welterweight bout at Brighton’s Amex Arena.

NEC FC attacker Paul Mucureezi was the football player of the month while Israel Makokha of Victoria Sharks scooped the Rugby gong.
