United States International University retain East African Women’s University Title

United States International University (USIU) Africa successfully defended the East African Women’s University Games that climaxed on Saturday 19th April at Makerere University.

USIU Africa were the overall winners after collecting 18 gold medals, seven silver and ten bronze to make a total of 35 medals.

Hosts Makerere University finished second with 14 gold medals, 22 silver and nine bronze totaling to 45.

The third position was taken by Bishop Sturat University with 2 gold two silver and two bronze.

Kumi University did not get any medal hence finishing eighth.

Brian Miiro Nsubuga the General Secretary Eastern Africa Women’s University Games appreciated the participants as he continues to believe they are not far from their target,

“The numbers of women taking part in the competitions keeps on increasing every year we believe we are not so far from our target.”

“Next year’s competitions will be held in Kenya soon we shall be updating you on the hosts.” Nsubuga added

USIU Africa, Makerere University, Bishop Stuart University, Kisii University, MUBS, Busitema University, Kabaale University and Kumi University are the eight Universities that took part in this year’s East Africa Women’s University Games.

USIU has emerged the overall winners for the past three consecutive years (2023,2025 and 2025)
