The 2024/25 CAF Champions League final will be between South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns and Egyptian side Pyramids FC.
This follows the climax of the semi finals where Sundowns edged Al Ahly whereas Pyramids eliminated Orlando Pirates.
Sundowns eliminated Al Ahly courtesy of the Away Goals Rule following a 1-1 draw in the second leg in a fully packed Cairo International Stadium.
Taher Mohamed scored for Al Ahly in the 24th minute but Sundowns equalized through a 90th minute own goal by Yasser Ibrahim to seal the coveted berth in the final.
Pyramids fought from behind twice to beat Orlando Pirates 3-2 following a goalless draw in the first leg a week earlier.
Fiston Mayele grabbed a brace and Ramadan Sobhi scored the other to ensure a crucial victory for the Egyptian moneybags.
Relebohile Mofokeng and Mohau Nkota scored the two goals for Orlando Pirates in each half respectively.
The two legged final will be played next month with Mamelodi Sundowns hosting the first leg whereas the second leg will be in Cairo.
