Crested Cranes forward Violah Nambi scores her first goal for her new side Åland United in their 3-2 win over HPS Women FC in the Finland Women’s League.

Nambi recently joined Åland United on a free transfer following her departure from Serie A side Napoli in the January transfer window.

Nambi headed perfectly from close range from Kacey Morgan Smekrud’s well delivered cross in the 66th minute to make the scores 2-1 in favor of Åland United.

Earlier in the game, Nambi won a penalty for her side after being brought down in the box in the first minute of the game, a penalty which was converted by Monica Hagstrom.

The diminutive forward is expected to add experience and goals in Åland United’s offensive department in the newly started Finland Women’s League season that kicked off over the weekend.

Nambi has previously played for Vaxjo DFF and IFK Kalmar in Sweden, FC Dornbirn Ladies in Austria and Italian sides Pomgliano CF and Napoli.

Åland United, who are three time Finnish champions, will face defending champions HJK Helsinki in their next game on Sunday 3rd May 2025.
