Vipers keen on out of contract KCCA duo

Uganda Premier league table leaders Vipers SC are huge admirers of KCCA FC duo of Usama Arafat and Etienne Katenga, Swift Sports Uganda understands.

Both players are out of contract at the end of June and it has been established that the Venoms are keen on signing them in the forthcoming transfer window.

KCCA FC have held fresh talks in the hope of finally reaching an agreement in prolonged contract negotiations with Usama but sources reveal the player is minded to reject the offer.

This website understands that Vipers are keenly looking at Usama’s situation at the 13-time League champions.

It should be noted that Usama is St Mary’s Secondary School Kitende student the feeder of Vipers SC senior team and has previously featured for Buganda regional side Kajjansi United, Mbale Tigers and CRO.

He joined KCCA FC at the start of the 2021/22 season on a three year employment contract from Kajjansi United.

Meanwhile, Katenga is also on Vipers radar with CAF Champions League football in sight for the six time league champions next season.

The Angola attacker is also out of contract in June, having joined the Kasasiro boys in 2023 on a two year deal. He has previously played for Asa FC, Saurimo, and CD Lunda Sul.
