Vipers SC starman Allan Okello and URA FC’s Ivan Ahimbisibwe will be battling for the 2024/25 UPL golden boot on the final day of the season.
Okello has managed 18 league goals this term and his side face already relegated Soltilo Bright Stars on coronation day. He has scored two more goals than Ahimbisibwe who is on 16 goals.
The former KCCA FC and AC Paradou attacker could join other golden boot winners at Vipers who are Tony Odur (21 goals) in Vipers’ maiden title winning season 2009/10, Dan Sserunkuma (17 goals) in 2017/18, Yunus Sentamu (16 goals) in 2020/21 and Ceaser Manzoki (18 goals) in 2021/23.
Ahimbisibwe with 16 goals to his needs a hat-trick against second placed NEC FC and pray Okello flatters at Kitende to smile to the prize.
The forward will seek to emulate Hamis Kitagenda (20 goals) in 2006/07, Hamis ‘Diego Kiiza (14 goals) in 2010/11 and Robert Ssentongo (13 goals) in 2011/12 who are the other URA players to have finished as top scorers.
