Record league champions SC Villa have signalled green to the league organisers that they will honour their opener against KCCA FC at Mandela National Stadium on Saturday in the late kick off.

Villa like Vipers had threatened to boycott the league, in protest to the new reforms that were introduced by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations.

This website, however, understands that the standoff has been resolved and Villa have since Monday been securing licences and clearances for their players.

It has also been revealed that the 17 time league champions will this afternoon meet the fans’ representatives informing them of the club’s position.

Vipers SC are also understood to be in closed door meetings with the Federation as they too undertake preparations to face Kitara FC on Saturday in the 5:00 pm. kick-off at Mandela National Stadium.

The league was kicked off last weekend under low-key attendances as the fans also exhibited their dissatisfaction towards the new reforms.
