Two time Buganda Masaza Cup champions Ssingo have sealed a place in the 2025 final after their goalless stalemate with Bugerere at Mityana Ssaza Ground on Sunday.

Ssingo won the semifinal first leg 2-1 in Ntenjeru last Sunday thanks to goals from Ismail Rwamitala and Shaban Kayongo. They prevail to the final 2-1 on aggregate after the two legged semifinal.

Bugerere were seeking their first final since the 2006 edition.

Ssingo under the stewardship of Bastu Ssemuyaba return to the final since the 2018 edition when they beat Buddu in a tense penalty shootout at Mandela National Stadium, by then Shafiq Bisaso was their head coach.

This is Ssingo’s sixth Masaza Cup final in history having previously played in the 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018.

They have also won the prestigious final twice in 2015 and 2018. Ironically, Ssingo were among the finalists when the Masaza Cup final was last held at Nakivubo the venue for this year’s final.

Ssingo await the winner between Kyaggwe and Buweekula in the final of the prestigious competition.

Nakivubo will host what is expected to be an explosive final on 1st November, 2025. Mawokota are the last team to triumph at Nakivubo when they edged Ssingo 1-0 in 2013 thanks to a Farouk Miya late goal.
