Kitara FC new signing Jimmy Kalema was the brightest star of the concluded 2025 Masaza Cup tournament which officially climaxed on Saturday 1st November at Nakivubo.
The budding forward scooped both the tournament’s MVP accolade and the top scorer’s Golden Boot with seven goals.
His impressive predatory goal scoring instincts and relentless work rate were integral as Buweekula clinched their maiden Masaza Cup title.
Kalema’s exploits inevitably caught the attention of Kitara FC who signed him on a two year contract before the start of the current season.
He hit the ground running with a goal (in a 3-2 win over Mbarara City) in the first four games of the season and he is expected to be a mainstay in Wasswa Bbosa’s selection onwards.
Buweekula, twice losing finalists, beat their immediate neighbors Ssingo 1-0 in the final thanks to Alex Taremwa’s early goal to write history.
