NEC FC and Kitara FC shared spoils in a six goal thriller during their league meeting on Saturday at MTN Omondi Stadium.
NEC led 2-0 at the halftime break before Kitara fought back to draw 2-2. The home side again re-established their lead three minutes to regulation time but the Royals got a late leveller to earn a point in the 3-3 stalemate.
Joseph Sseremba gave the home side the lead in the 27th minute capitalizing on a long ball from custodian Benjamin Ochan.
Joseph Dhata doubled NEC FC’s advantage after being fed by Sseremba before the halftime breather.
George Ssenkaaba pulled one back for the visitors seven minutes after the recess, heading home a perfect Frank Tumwesigye Zaga free kick.
In the 72nd minute, NEC goalkeeper Ochan fouled John Bosco Byaruhanga in the box and referee Nabadda pointed to the spot.
Gadafi Wahab who came on as second half substitute was entrusted with the responsibility and levelled matters against his former employees.
Three minutes to normal time, Emmanuel Kulanga who replaced Paul Mucureezi thought he had sealed all three points when he struck the third goal for NEC.
The visitors however fought on to salvage at the 90th minute mark through Emmanuel Wasswa.
Kitara is now sixth on the table with 23 points while NEC is eighth on 16 points.
