Vipers SC and NEC FC played out to a 1-1 draw during their league contest on Tuesday night at Kitende.

Milton Karisa handed the Venoms the lead in the 7th minute before Warren Buule snatched a late equalizer for the visitors.

Karisa gave the hosts the lead early into the game after being fed by in form midfielder Abdul Karim Watambala.

NEC head coach Badru Kaddu was prompted to make two changes early with Shamir Kimwero and Joseph Dhata replacing Daniel Shabene and Rashid Kawawa respectively.

Vipers were the dominant side in the first period of the contest and went into the halftime breather with a slim lead.

In the second period Nigerian Odili Chukwuma came close to doubling their advantage but his effort hit the lower post.

Buule restored parity for NEC in the 76th minute after a corner kick to silence the home faithfuls.

Second half substitute Yunus Sentamu nearly won it for Vipers in the final minutes of the game but his effort went inches wide.

Vipers are now on 38 points after registering their fifth draw while NEC remains 7th on 24 points.

Vipers next host Lugazi FC on March 4th while NEC FC will battle with UPDF FC a day before in their next league contest.
