Buhimba Saints United have signed defender Simon Baligeya on a one year renewable contract, the club has confirmed.
Baligeya is a former Uganda Hippos defender who was part of the famous U20 team that reached the AFCON U20 final in Mauritania in 2021.
The versatile defender has in the recent times featured for URA FC but playing time was hard to come his way.
Baligeya is a former player of Standard High Zana, Bulo Parents and Kibuli SS in the Schools Competition as well as Busia Young in the Eastern Regional League.
He becomes the first official signing made by the embattled Premier League side in the ongoing mid-season transfer window.
Buhimba Saints United, under the stewardship of Robert Mukasa, are striving to survive relegation in their debut season in the topflight.
The club is currently sitting 14th on the Uganda Premier League table with 15 points from 17 games played.
