St.Mary’s Kitende’s USSSA National Boys’ Football title drought will continue for a third consecutive year after their being eliminated by Amus College in the semifinals of the games in Lira.
Amus College and Kitende played out to a goalless stalemate and the winner was to be decided on penalties.
Amus College finished the game with a man-less following a red card that was shown to Pius Oyirwoth.
In the shootout, Moses Kalule scored Kitende’s only kick while Marvin Kabiito and Collins Ochatre both failed to hit the target.
Mathias Kasadha, Ivan Okello, Roy Olara and captain Iddi Abdul Rashid were on target for Amus College School during the shootout.
Amus are managed by Richard Maling who won the title last year during his reign at Buddo SS. They will face off with Bukedea Comprehensive South who edged Kyadondo SS 1-0 in the other semifinal.
Patrick Ssenkusu’s 55th minute goal was enough to send Bukedea into the final due on Tuesday. Kitende and Kyadondo will battle for bronze on Tuesday as well.
