SC Villa have completed the signing of midfielder John Asiimwe from Express FC.
Asiimwe was unveiled by the record Uganda Premier league champions on Monday via the club’s official social media pages.
Asiimwe is a former Uganda Cub player whom he featured for at the FIFA U17 FIFA World Cup that was held in Qatar last year.
Asiimwe has spent the previous two seasons at Villa’s rivals Express FC whom he joined from Prosper Soccer Academy
He is also a former Bukedea Comprehensive School player but also previously featured for St. Henry’s Kitovu in the USSSA games.
Villa has also had five of their first team player leave in Hassan Mubiru, Elvis Ngonde, Brady Jeans Wokorach, Charles Lwanga and Diego Missi Ssemugera.
Asiimwe is Villa’s first official signing in this transfer window as preparation for the 2026/27 season intensify. Last term, Villa finished third on the league table and also lost to Kitara FC in the Stanbic Uganda Cup final.
