Former Vipers SC goalkeeper Alfred Mudekereza has revealed that he was denied access to meet Dr Lawrence Mulindwa over a new contract.
The Congolese asserted that wanted to stay at the club but some individuals fought him out. Besides Vipers, Mudekereza previously played for OC Bukavu Dawa (DR Congo) before crossing to AS Vita (DR Congo).
“I wanted to stay at Vipers but some individuals fought me out. They blocked me from accessing Dr Mulindwa since i wanted to talk to him over a new contract. Personally i loved Vipers since Mulindwa is good man but some people said bad things about me and blocked me from seeing him.” Mudekereza lamented
The Congolese Custodian won three league title during his time at the club and two Uganda Cups. His heroics over TP Mazembe in 2022 helped Vipers reach the CAF Champions League group stages for the first time in history.
Following his departure, Vipers replaced him with another experienced goalkeeper in Gabonese Loyce Marius Mbaba who signed a two year deal at the club.
The goalkeeping department at Vipers also has Dennis Kiggundu and Jack Komakech. The Venoms will be under the stewardship of Denis Lavagne and have also beefed up the team with Joel Sserunjogi, Nicholas Mwere and Jacques Mangoba.
