URA set to release four more players

Four time Uganda Premier League champions URA FC is set to part ways four players, Swift Sports Uganda understands.

Rahmat Ssenfuka, Fred Amaku, Derrick Kakooza and Bruno Bunyaga have already been informed by club CEO Allan Munaaba to find solace somewhere else.

The revenue collectors are however contempleting on releasing Bunyaga in this transfer window with some bosses believing his the best striker at the club.

Striker Kakooza who joined URA FC on a two year contract earlier this year has told the club to pay the reminder of his contract before departure.

Kakooza is a former player at KF Terbuni Puke in the Albanian third tier and also featured for Valmiera in Latvia, Finland’s KUPs and later Egyptian side ENPPI SC before switching to Ethiopia Coffee.

The former Police striker garnered international attention after emerging as the top scorer at the U20 AFCON tournament in Mauritania in 2021 with five goals.

Ssenfuka also joined the club this year on a two year deal but has been told to either find a club on loan with URA paying half of the his salary. The former Wakiso Giants and Vipers midfielder is also believed to fancy a contract termination.

Amaku joined URA at the start of the 2025/26 season on a two year employment contract, with a year remaining on his deal he has been shown the exit. He is a former Maroons and Kitara FC striker.

Joseph Ssemujju also decided to part ways with the club after agreeing a contract termination. Hudu Mulikyi and Bright Vuni already left the club.

URA will be coached by former Express coaches Jimmy Kintu and Christian Magoba.

The club has so far beefed up their squad with two signings in Elvis Ssekajugo from Express FC and Muhammad Kyeyune, who signed last week from Entebbe UPPC

URA also rewarded players Godfrey Ssekibengo, Innocent Kisolo, and Denis Luzige Kisiriko with new employment contracts.
