Crippled Baker Kasigwa walks on Christmas day at Caring Hearts Kagula Church

As Christians were celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ on Christmas day, former Cranes International Baker Samuel Kasigwa arrived at Caring hearts breakthrough ministries located at Kagula Hill Wakiso district in a wheelchair but left walking.

Indeed it was a Christmas day surprise that will impress many in the sports fraternity especially those for whom football is a niche.

This after 87-year-old was accompanied by his wife and son has. Kasigwa just like in the bible ‘gotten-up from his wheelchair and walked’ albeit for just a few meters.

Miracle on Christmas day as crippled Baker Samuel Kasigwa walks

Pastor Paul Musisi who is the leader of former footballers initiative and a Pastor at Caring hearts breakthrough ministries Kagula witnessed the miracle unfold on the day Christ was born.

“Daddy has been unable to walk for the past two or three months” said his son.
He added that “this is a big milestone and though he is still a long way to recovering from multiple ailments,we can feast on this for Christmas.” Stated Kasigwa’s son.

Kasigwa was part of the Uganda Cranes team of the 1950’s that toured Europe and joined history books for playing barefooted.

He hit the headlines for the wrong reasons a few months ago while in search for funds to treat several illnesses including stroke.

After failure to secure treatment from sources like FUFA and government.

The Former footballers initiative has come to the rescue of many ex players notable of whom is Obadiah Semakula.
On top of providing health cover for contemporaries, it also provides education chances to sons and daughters of their colleagues.

Kasigwa, who played also for Uganda Railways, Lint Marketing Board and Pepsi Cola clubs.

As a coach, he managed at Lint Marketing Board and Uganda Commercial Bank.
