Egypt : Okwi scores in victory over El Gaish

Tala’ea El Gaish 0-3 Al Ittihad Alexandria

Uganda Cranes striker Emmanuel Arnold Okwi opened scores in Al Ittihad Alexandria’s 3-0 away victory over Tala’ea El Gaish in the Egyptian League at the Gehaz El Reyada stadium on Monday evening.

Okwi was on target in the 48th minute following a barren first half before teammates Ahmed Refaat (54′) and Khalid Kamar (68′) completed the rout.

The Uganda Cranes forward has now scored two goals in as many matches for the Alexandria based outfit this season.

His first goal came against Ismaily SC in another 3-0 win on November 30th last year.

Just like the other two goal scorers on the day, Okwi was substituted in the closing stages of the game and Ahmed Heggy took his place.

Al Ittihad Alexandria are third on the Egyptian League table with 25 points from 14 games. They are 11 points behind table leaders Al Ahly who have so far won all their 12 matches played this season.

Okwi and teammates will return to action on Friday in the second leg of the Arab Club Championship quarter finals against Ismaily SC, a side they lead 1-0 on aggregate.

Other Ugandan ambassadors in Egypt will be in action this Tuesday. Taddeo Lwanga’s Tanta FC host Allan Kyambadde’s El Gounah.

Khalid Aucho and Misr El Makkasa visit Pyramids in the late kick off.
