Odong salvages point for SC Villa at Maroons

SC Villa registered their first point in the 1-1 draw with Maroons FC at Luzira Prisons ground on Sunday.

Defender Arnold Odong cancelled out Fred Amaku’s strike to salvage a point for the record Uganda Premier league champions.

SC Villa come into this contest back of a 2-1 defeat to new comers Kitara on the opening day while Maroons had thrashed Wakiso Giants 3-0.

Amaku had given the home side the lead at the hour mark.

Defender Odong restored parity for Dusan Stojanovic coached side five minutes later.

The two sides held on to the stalemate that sees Maroons move to 4 points and are now 5th on the UPL table.

The Jogoos who registered their first point in the league are now 9th on the table.

Maroons FC next travel to KCCA FC on 3rd October while SC Villa next host on form NEC FC at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku on Friday, 29th September.
