Tentative qualified list of Ugandan athletes for 2024 Paris Olympics Revealed

On Thursday, 18th April, the Uganda Olympic Committee revealed the tentative list of qualified Ugandan athletes for the forthcoming Paris Olympic Games.

Moses Mwase the Chef de mission for team Uganda at the games confirmed that so far 21 athletes from Athletics, Swimming, Rowing and Cycling have already qualified for the global event in France.

He also confirmed that Rugby, badminton, boxing, and athletics still have opportunities to qualify athletes before the window closes on 30th June.

At the Tokyo Games, Uganda was represented by a team of 25 individuals.

This is the 17th time that Uganda is participating in the Olympic Games. Uganda first participated at the Olympic Games in 1956.

The Paris Games are scheduled to start on 26th July to 11th August, 2024.

Meanwhile, the list of qualified athletes so far comprises of Gold and Silver Olympic medallist Joshua Cheptegei, Olympic bronze medalist Jacob Kiplimo and Olympic Champion Peruth Chemutai who will carry Uganda’s hopes of medals in Paris.
