Buddu, Bulemeezi put up sterling performances in Buganda cycling competitions

Over 100 participants took part as Owek. Robert Serwanga Ssalongo the minister for Sports, Youth and Art flagged off the Buganda Masaza Cycling competitions 2024.

The road bikes race was won by Aziz Ssempijja from Bulemeezi, Arafat Kimuli also of Bulemeezi came second while Abdul Lubega of Busiro finished third.

The ladies’ ordinary bikes race was won by Beatrice Shanita followed by Salwa Bamukobeire as Shariz Nanozi finished third.

Owek. Serwanga called for sponsors and partners to support the sport,

“People have been missing the game. I saw how people were excited as they supported their participants, so I call upon sponsors and partners to come up and support the sport.”

“You never know one successful cyclist can support the entire community or county.”

Buddu were overall winners in the ordinary bikes for men as well as road bikes for ladies.

Bulemeezi emerged overall champions for men in the road bikes race while the ordinary bikes race for ladies was won by Bugerere.

Vice Kangawo Muky. Margret Mutyaba, Buganda Cycling Committee chairman Mathias Lukwago and secretary Ahmed Ssemwanga Kabogoza were in attendance.

The next race will take place on 7th-July-2024 in Ssingo
