The management team of Ssese Ssaza has retained former Uganda Cranes left back Abubakar Tabula as their head coach ahead of the 2023 Masaza Cup tournament.
Last year, Tabula was at the helms of the 2007 and 2008 semifinalists but they failed to advance past the group stage.
With Daniel Mwanje as the team manager, Ssese are this determined to have a much improved Masaza Cup championship this year.
During his playing time, Tabula featured for SC Villa, KCCA FC, Proline FC Simba FC, Rwandan club APR FC and Swedish side GIF Sundsvall.
He has 36 caps for Uganda Cranes and managed to score only four goals.
Ssese are in Muganzirwa Group alongside record winners Gomba, defending champions Busiro, three time champions Mawokota, Mawogola and Kabula.
The 2023 Masaza Cup tournament is expected to kickoff later in June.
