Awany joins Israel’s Ashdod

Timothy Awany has completed his move to Israel topflight division side Ashdod FC from Uganda Premier league champions KCCA FC.

Swift Sports understands that, Awany who is currently with the Uganda Cranes team for the 2020 Chan qualifiers is to officially link up with his new club on return from Djibouti.

The defender joined the Lugogo based side from Kibuli Secondary School and has won the league title, Uganda Cup as well as guiding the club to the group stages of both the CAF Champions league and Confederation Cup.

Awany was also part of the Uganda Cranes team for the just concluded continental showpiece in Egypt and featured in two games.

His new club was founded in 1999 and were promoted to the Israel Premier league in 2013/14 season. They host their home games at a 8,200 capacity Yud Alef Stadium.

Ronny Awat coached side finished 12th last season on a 14 team log.
