Women’s NBL Finals game 2 : UCU 70-60 KCCA

UCU Lady Canons stretched their lead to 2-0 in the 2017 series of Women’s NBL finals.

UCU who won game one , 65-57 on 26th of November with their offensive trio in Judith Nansobya, Vilma Achieng and Angella Lokwameri scoring 44 points all together.

KCCA Leopards looked an improved side in game 2 especially in the first period as they kept attacking and defending as a unit in a tight quarter that ended 14-14.

UCU took the 2nd quarter by just a point, scoring 10 points while Kcca Leopards scored 9 leaving the quarter at 24-23 in favor of the defending champions.

The 2 teams showed balance of power in the 3rd quarter when the Leopards came from 28-25 down to take a 37-35 lead before Ritah Imanishimwe leveled with 2 free throws.

Lady Canons went on take the 3rd quarter with a 3 point gap, 40-37 leaving the Leopards with one quarter to try square the series to 1:1 which they failed.

UCU did not look back in the last quarter leaving KCCA trailing as the Canons continued to create gap and eventually winning the game 70-60.

UCU Lady Canons ‘ Vilma Achieng scored 15 points while Ritah Imanishimwe and Judith Nansobya scored 14 and 10 points respectively.

KCCA had Amoding Moreen scored 13 while both Chemutai Joy and Nabusimba Halima scored 10 each on the evening.
